This season I decided to play a Witch Doctor, which is a class I haven't played before. She is A BLAST. Also transmogging her is super fun, she's such a cutie! I haven't gotten a 1h and an offhand that I can use with a build yet though, so for now a staff it is. Inc. chicken fetish? OR A FROG. Maybe a cat if I see one. I do have a hamburger dagger though...Fun season though for sure!
Retribution may potentially not be great for Legion. Like really bad. I'm toying with the idea of playing something else just so I don't feel terrible. The only reason I'm moderately toying with it is because I'd play a priest (Aysnlie pt. 2), and she has awesome mogs, but yeah. WORLD OF WARCRAFT LIFE DECISIONS ARE HARD. :(
Where I'm at:
It's been a little over a year since my last post. I'm not sure if I can pinpoint exactly why I kind of lost my enthusiasm towards WoW/transmogging/my website. I think a good part of it was not being in a progression guild. While I'm totally ok with being "retired" and much more casual, part of me still misses it. But I don't have to commit to anywhere near as much. I can always talk about my old glory days though!
That being said, I don't know what else. Lack of bag space, not a lot of passion in mogging new things, lack of time in real life, who knows. Maybe I just needed a vacation!
But now, at least in this very moment, I feel different. A HUGE PART OF IT has to do with the upcoming patch changes. In just a few days I will once again have my bags. I won't have to debate which item I should vendor to make room for something else. I can keep everything, forever. Which means...MOG FARMING.
My goals after Tuesday are to farm everything. GET EVERYTHING. COLLECT ALL THE MOG GEAR LIKE IT'S POKEMON. At least the plate aspect of it. I'm still indecisive as to a main alt, if any. I miss my beautiful priest...we will see.
The alt army returns...
I have decided that come Legion I want to make gold again. A lot of it. I have never tried to make gold at the beginning of an expansion, and I'm pretty sure that's where a good chunk can be made. I transferred over Oy and Greenleigh from Ner'zhul for herbalism/mining/alchemy/inscription, and leveled them. RIP Oy and Greenleigh, hello Juneau and Susannah lol. My mage on Thrall has Enchanting and JC, and Honey has BS and Engineering. With their powers combined....who knows. THAT 2 MILLION GOLD SPIDER MOUNT SURE LOOKS NEAT!
My transmog plans:
Come Tuesday I'm getting the Fabulous title. All I need on Honey to get it is a bunch of shirts, which I have on my bank toon. I also have about 5 tabs of plate items ready for Honey. I spent a good chunk of change buying all the green item's she's since vendored or decided she could buy again. All of the things I've saved onto over the years and didn't want to let go...I am so excited. The possibilities will be endless...I couldn't be more excited.
Where I'm going:
I just want to be rich and Fabulous, baby. With a side of posting on my website more often.
I recently entered to win a chibi avatar from @Frenone on Twitter, and I actually won! She normally does weekly giveaways for followers, but the contest was to take a shipyard selfie with a creative ship title. I entered with this, and won!
I was in the shower one morning getting ready for work when the idea for it hit me. After work I came home and started on it right away. I'd wanted Buckler of the Seas for a long time, but wasn't able to get it since it was Alliance only. I set out to get that immediately! After I was done I had to realm hop the Timeless Isle till I found the vendor that sold Magical Pet Biscuits to make my Macabre Marionette lifesize. I went to my shipyard, found the perfect spot (I had to use Aviana's Feather to get there lol), and realized I was too big compared to my pet. I then hopped to my bank alt, bought some Pygmy Oil and mailed them to Honey, and voila! Perfect size. 45 minutes of work and a bunch of different camera angles later, I had it.
I loved the sketch Frenone showed me, and loved the drawing process even more! I left work early so I could watch her stream it on Twitch (that was only a semi-awkward conversation as to why I wanted to leave early lol).
It was crazy to watch it go from a sketch to the final product. I think she spent A LOT more time than she normally does, I was so touched by it, the avatar is perfect. From her wings that I'm in love with, to the plumerias in the background, I couldn't be happier :)
Frenone is incredibly talented and I love her work so much! If you want to check her out, you can see see her work at:
If you'd like to commission a drawing from her, she will be opening back up requests this November after finishing Blizzcon badges and such.
After I stopped raiding with Last Word I was raiding part time with my friends guild in Unbowed Ashes on Thrall two nights a week. I was dpsing as ret, which felt like something new and exciting, with an overall more laid back raiding atmosphere. I had a really good time, but after three months I started to realize we weren't going to be doing mythics, and it really bothered me. I wanted to do more, and knew I was still capable of it.
My work schedule changed again, this time for the better, so one day I sat down and looked for a new guild. I wanted mythic, but I also wanted less days. I didn't look for very long on the recruitment threads before I found Revival on Sargeras. 3 days a week, great hours, great raiding environment. After a 2 week trial I was accepted as a raider.
Honey spent her whole life as horde, so going Alliance was a bit of an experience for me. Previously I had joked around that if I were to ever go Alliance I'd roll Draenei. When it came down to it, I just couldn't do it. It came down to the face for me, humans had that smile...and pupils!
So here I am, raiding again. Got back into the mix of things and had a few Mythic kills in BRF before HFC launched. We're finishing up heroic and will be moving onto Mythic soon. I'm so excited, and happy to be raiding Mythics once again :)
I've raided competitively since BC, started around 200ish in the US and wound up US top 50. I've healed my little Paladin's butt off, and had a blast the whole time, and been proud of what my guild(s) has (have)done. This is my hobby, even if it means I'm a huge nerd!
Mid October I got a promotion at work which meant a more hectic schedule, and I also moved farther away which meant more of a drive. Both decreased my free time (what website?), and one in particular got too hard on me to raid competitively with my guild.
Raiding until 2 am four nights a week while having to sometimes get up at 6:30 am meant I would come home from work, take a nap to try and catch up, wake up tired and try to raid. It severely affected my performance. I don't always have to get up so early since my schedule varies a bit, but it seemed like I was always trying to play catch up.
It was during our Mythic Imperator progression I realized how much my lack of sleep was effecting me, and the whole guild. I had double the amount of deaths on that fight compared to everyone else, and was incredibly slow to make decisions in general. I tried to tough it out, but I eventually couldn't help but feel like I was holding our progression back. I quit shortly thereafter.
I miss raiding Mythic, I miss my guildies, BUT I LOVE SLEEPING. It's nice to not be so tired all of the time. I don't have the time or the schedule to raid in a Mythic guild, but I joined a coworkers guild who only raids two nights a week! It's heroics for now, and I've gone ret Paladin instead of holy, but it makes me happy enough. I've got a nice group of people to raid with and it's stress free!
I've been so busy! Between leveling and gearing up, working on my garrison to getting raid ready, I haven't had a lot of down time. I almost posted a steam punk looking set with a lot of current gear, but then, this happened and everything changed.
I'd been thinking about going Tauren for a while now. Arcane Torrent for holy only restores 1 holy power every two minutes, which I felt was pretty weak. Granted 1% crit to 2% critical healing doesn't seem like that much of an improvement, but my inner raider had to do it. Plus after 6 years of hitting Arcane Torrent for mana I had a hard time breaking the habit of thinking I would get mana back...which basically means I kept hitting AT when I had 5 holy power saved up. Oops.
In the meantime this changes my mogs. My steampunk looking mog didn't blend as well on a larger palette. Determined to be sexy even though Honey is slightly larger I immediately mogged her into the Jade plate set. It seems a little wrong, but so right at the same time. Look at her fuzzy little navel...the curve of her OH GOD THIS IS HOW PEOPLE TURN INTO FURRIES.
Anymoo, I may switch back after progression is over. I hope Blizzard is able to keep most of Blood Elves' identity when they're finished with their artwork. To paraphrase my buddy Kimstar, if they make Blood Elves look like they should be hanging out in yoga pants and Ugg boots with a pumpkin spice latte in hand I might just stay Tauren.
I recently got better internets and thought I'd take a stab at streaming. I'm pretty excited about healing on my Paladin for Mythic raids in Warlords!
While I'll be streaming the next few weeks up until WoD it will most likely only be Tuesdays (unless we can't do a one night clear). Come WoD we will be back up to our full blown raid schedule.
Monday to Friday, 7:30 - 10:30 p.m. PST
Tier gear was added to the Beta today...so I logged into a few toons to see what it would look like on. I really like all of them! The paladin is of course my favorite for now. So I may have made Honeypants a male Tauren and named it Hoofhearted, he's adorable! I love the priest helm...the purple in the druids set...the warlock shoulders, all so good! The seed has been planted though..."what can I mog this with". I'm excited!
If I could get the Mythic version of the lock set though, oh man.
When I revamped my website I mogged Honey into one of my favorite sets for the background. I hadn't really planned on using the set for her ret spec, but I went looking at polearms for her it, and fell in love with Ritter's Rat Render. It matched perfectly in my opinion, and the little rotating bit in the middle gave it some interest. This thing was a little pricey on the AH since it's a MoP BoE, but 2500g later it was mine, and I love it.
